In December 2022, our students graced the Playhouse Theatre stage to graduate from our Diploma of Dance (Level 6), Advanced Diploma of Dance (Level 7), Graduate Diploma of Classical Ballet (Level 8) and Graduate Diploma of Elite Dance Instruction. As our students, their families, friends, and staff gathered to celebrate, the joy and enthusiasm were evident.
Our school leaders Amy Ronnfedlt and Sophie Wormald shared some inspiring insight on their journey in speeches at the ceremony.
“Most of all, you have taught us to recognise that beneath our [uniform] colours of purple, we are in-fact human. Humans who make mistakes, but more importantly learn from them. Your balance of compassion, motivation and at times tough love has cultivated resilience and maturity within us.”, Sophie Wormald, 2022 Level 8 Vice Captain.
Our commitment to excellence and a balanced education is reflected in our tradition of acknowledging our students' academic and artistic achievements at the annual graduation ceremony with a suite of student awards. Amy Ronnfeldt was awarded the 2022 Dux of The Australian Ballet School, in recognition of her exceptional progress and achievements throughout the year.
The Level 8 graduates had a particularly memorable experience as they marked the culmination of their Graduate Diploma of Classical Ballet. This outstanding accomplishment signifies the conclusion of one phase and the start of an adventurous and fulfilling journey in both life and dance.
Artists of The Australian Ballet Ako Kondo and Yichuan Yang took to the stage to accept their Graduate Diploma of Elite Dance Instruction. Adam Bull also achieved this certification through incredible commitment but was unfortunately unable to attend the ceremony that day. Both Ako and Yichuan delivered heartfelt, and humorous speeches about their learning journey through The Australian Ballet School.
