Due to the ongoing public health concerns regarding COVID-19 in Sydney, and New South Wales Government restrictions announced yesterday, The Australian Ballet School has made the heartbreaking decision to cancel the premiere season of Butterfly, scheduled for 2-3 July in Sydney. This is a decision we feel is necessary to protect the health and safety of our students, staff, and audiences.
 
If you are a ticket holder, your refund will be issued in the coming weeks. For those who wish to donate the price of your tickets, you can donate here, and we would be most grateful. 
 
This challenging time is yet another performance opportunity lost for our students. We thank our students and staff for their commitment, creativity, hard work and resilience; the dream of performing on stage again remains as strong as ever. And we thank you, our community, for your ongoing support, dedication and understanding.
 
Although this is a frustrating time, we acknowledge what we have achieved to date. Despite lockdowns and setbacks, we have an exquisite and exciting new show that is ready to take flight. Butterfly is filled with exciting choreography and beautiful sets and costumes. We can’t wait to share these with you when we are able.
 
We are exploring options to determine if we can reschedule the tour at a later date, and will keep you posted. Our Melbourne season of Butterfly will go forward as scheduled on 10 & 11 December 2021.
